Smoked Salmon Pate
This is a definite crowd pleaser, and makes a lovely home-made Christmas gift. There are many recipes. Here is one we like to use:
• 1/4 lb Mersey Point Fish Products smoked salmon bits
• 8 oz (light) cream cheese
• 1/2 cup (light) sour cream
• 2 tsp (10ml) lemon juice
• 1 tsp (5ml) horseradish
• 1 tsp Paprika for colour
• Fresh ground pepper to taste
Puree all ingredients in the food processor.
Instead of using smoked salmon you can also use 1/2 lb Mersey Point smoked mackerel fillets. Remove skin and bones from smoked mackerel. Do not add the paprika. Puree all ingredients in the food processor.
